The Greater Natal International Airport or São Gonçalo do Amarante - Natal International Airport,

is a new airport complex built in Natal Brazil.

When fully completed, it will be the largest in Latin America.
Greater Natal is designed to be an intermodal airport, focusing on both passenger transport and cargo.

The complex is expected to have the highest aircraft traffic in the Northeast, and is designed to have the largest terminal in Latin America.

Construction of a major airport in the city of Natal ( northeast region ) .

Located 11 kilometres from the city of Natal ( state Rio Grande do Norte - Northeast Region ) the Sao Goncalo International Airport, or Grande Natal International Airport is one the most ambitious projects designed by the Brazilian Government for the 2014 Football World Cup.

The airport is intended to be the biggest in Latin America and the 7th largest in the world with regards to capacity.
Besides the passenger and cargo terminals, it will also feature hotels and a theme park.

The approximate value for the first part of the project is already estimated in R$ 800,000,000.00 (£300,000,000.00).
The airport should be able to receive around 5 million passengers per year and 10 A380 airships upon the completion of the first phase, plus over 40 million passengers and up to 156 A380 airships later on.

The new International Airport is located at 80 km of The My House in Paradise Condominium and is seen as a priority for and partially financed by the Brazilian government and is an important piece of a government plan ( PAC ) to develop the Brazilian economy as it will be the Portal of Brazilian air traffic
( being the closest airport to Europe etc ).

Greater Natal International Airport or São Gonçalo do Amarante – Natal International Airport,
is a new airport complex presently under construction in São Gonçalo do Amarante near Natal, Brazil. When fully completed, it is planned to be the largest airport complex in Latin America.
Operations are expected to start in May 2014.
Planning for the airport started in 2007 envisioning concepts of an intermodal airport, focusing both on passenger and cargo transportation.
The complex is expected to have the highest aircraft traffic in the Northeast.
The Brazilian Government via Infraero, as per agreement prior to the auction, will be responsible to complete the works of runway, taxiways, apron and control tower.

On February 6, 2012 Consortium Inframérica also won the concession of Brasília–Presidente Juscelino Kubitschek International Airport.
